Counting the Log…

How it's made

One rule: confirmed, with a source

We check the news, official bulletins and company statements three times a day. An incident goes on the Log only once it is confirmed, and the Index counts the Log. Incidents abroad with no effect on British homes appear on the Log as background but are not counted.

For journalists

Using the Index

The figures are free to use with credit and a link. The Log is also available as RSS. Press information and images are on the press page.

What does the Index count?
Confirmed incidents that reached British households in a calendar month, by type: cyber-attacks, data breaches, IT outages, payments, power, telecoms, water, transport, weather, health and supply. One incident is one entry, dated by when it began.
What counts as confirmed?
A statement from the organisation involved or an official body, or reports from at least two independent reputable outlets. Every entry on the Log links to its source. Rumours, unverified claims and criminals' leak-site posts are left out.
Why does it start in November?
The Log began in October 2026, and its earlier months are not complete. November 2026 is the first full month, so the first edition, on 1 December, covers November.
Can I use the figures?
Yes. Please credit the T-MINUS Disruption Index and link to tminus.co.uk/disruption-index. For each month's figures before they are published, email the press desk.
What if an entry is wrong?
Email [email protected]. We correct the Log the same day with a note, and restate the month's count if it changes.
